Designed for close quarters work where overall length is important, the Typhoon suppressor reduces gunshot noise on the AR-15/M-16 to below the level at which OSHA requires hearing protection. No secondary hearing protection such as ear muffs is required. The thread mount version extends past muzzle by 4.1 inches, the quick-detach Atlas Universal mount version, which attaches to any Mil-Spec A2 flash hider, extends past the end of the flash hider by about 4 inches. Both these suppressors from SRT Arms almost eliminate gas blowback into the carbine action and shooters face, and have been independently tested near 10 decibels quieter at the shooter's ear than other currently available suppressors.
